Day 3 – State Your Identity
Targeted Prayer Time (minimum): 3 Minutes
i·den·ti·ty (/ˌīˈden(t)ədē/) (noun)
the fact of being who or what a person or thing is.
Do you know who you are? Not who you aspire to be. Not who your family primes you to be (or who you should be as a result of the troubles of your bloodline). Not who someone else said you should (or shouldn’t) be.
My biggest breakthrough came after realizing who God called me to be. It was NOTHING like the lies I believed about myself. It was far better. Far richer. Far truer and lasting!
How many lies have we believed about ourselves? The Word (Bible) tells us that the enemy is the Father of lies. What are some of the lies we believe? We will never be free? No one loves us? We are worthless? There is no hope for that situation? We are a mistake? We’d be better off dead? God doesn’t hear our cry? We don’t need God?
Shine light on every lie with the truth of God’s word. There is life and death in our words. Who does God say you are? What is your identity in Him? Unsure of what His word says about His children? Here are some reminders for you as you pray:
Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared for us beforehand.
1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation.
Eph 1:5 – He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as His own children through Christ Jesus.
2 Cor 5:17 – Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he (she) is a new creature.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:16-17.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
