Prayer Challenge Sept. 17 – Generation Separation

Day 17 – Generation Separation⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Prayer Time Goal: 17 Minutes ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Generational curses. You’ve heard the term used before. Setbacks, struggles, tragedy, cycles, tendencies, and weaknesses that seem to repeat themselves in families. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Such things can happen to anyone. However, the distinguishing factor in this sort of cycle is that it is repetitive and destructive in nature, like a plague. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
It’s an inclination toward a certain type(s) of strongholds that circulate and repeat in a bloodline. The shackles of the parents become the shackles of their children and their children. It becomes the identifying and unfortunate stamp of the family. These tendencies and weakness are passed down and do a great deal of damage by keeping us stuck in the past. We repeat behaviors and produce similar outcomes. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
What might a generation cycle or curse look like? Premature and or tragic death, addictions, poverty, illness, mental illness, divorce, domestic violence and other forms of abuse, division, strife, and various other behavioral and attitudinal dispositions, etc. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
The roles we have in breaking cycles is crucial. Every decision you make will impact those around you and the children you bring into the world. What curses do you want to see broken? In addition, what may be currently passing down from you? Because of the cross and the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, breaking bonds is possible first through repentance, and then through the authority you have been given to command those bonds to be broken. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
If you desire for God to cleanse your bloodline, it begins with YOU.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Leviticus 26:40-42 – But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers…if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they make amends for their iniquity, then I will remember my covenant with Jacob.

Exodus 34:6–7 – The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.

Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.

1 John 5:4-5 – For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Luke 10:19 – Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
