Prayer Challenge Sept. 23 – Spiritual Blindness

Day 23 – Spiritual Blindness

Prayer Time Goal: 23 Minutes

Physical blindness is something that takes place within the body. It can be sparked from outward factors and substances, but the blindness happens in a part of the body. In essence, it is in you.

The same is true for spiritual blindness. It is blindness that originates inside of you. When we are spiritually blind, we cannot see or understand the things of God. We fail to realize that we are spirit beings, in a physical world. When we choose our own desires and ways above God, we then become blind and resistant to His truth – willfully. We spiral into doubt, numbness, and a life that is void of the spirit. We stumble on in darkness, even if we appear to be flourishing on the outside.

When we acknowledge that we are blind, it is an invitation for the Lord to give us sight. When we believe that we can see outside of Him giving us sight, then we will remain blind. Today, humbly confess this spiritual blindness. Ask for eyes to see and ears to hear the light and truth of God’s word and salvation.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 – But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Matthew 13:15-16 – For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears, for they hear.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”
