It was incredible.
I stood in the spice aisle of the grocery store with my children, and while the younger two scurried off giggling and bouncing around, I asked my oldest to help me find whole cloves.
As we did this, my eyes landed on a bottle of beige colored balls. They were super tiny, and I was drawn to the label: “Mustard Seeds”.
It was a great moment to disciple while reminding my girl of the Bible lesson that she has heard before. Now, here it was right in front of us; a visual from a lesson used by our Messiah: Faith the size of a mustard seed.
Visuals always help to drive home any point.
This particular visual was perfect for my daughter to see exactly what Jesus was referring to, and to see just how much faith is needed in order to move mountains in our lives.
To her surprise, it wasn’t much!
It is incredible how profound yet simple our faith walk is. I often think of the mountains that surface in my life. And then, there are times when I think about the actual weight of what I actually have to carry as a Daughter of the King! Only a single mustard seed of faith.

The Lord has positioned Himself as an anchor for His children.
He carries the burden of all the cares that He tells us to throw on Him.
…renders justice and judgment.
…bore the cross, the wrath, and the shame.
…conquered death.
He has done and continues to do all of this for us.
His “ask” of us is so small.
He doesn’t place this impossible demand that we “be all, know all, and do all”.
He doesn’t tell us to get our weight up and physically charge into the mountains in our lives.
Instead, He tells us to have faith. An itty-bitty mustard seed of it to be exact – because the mountains are listening.
And He said to them, “Because of your meager faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20
How humble a mighty Creator to be Lord over us and Father of us at the same time!
How often have you found yourself feeling like you had to be some grandiose pillar of faith and fire and movement and action before coming to the feet of Jesus?
The cloak of religion and perfection and legalism would have you to believe that your breakthrough is a matter of your own doing.
Dear Reader, your breakthrough is a matter of your surrendering though FAITH.

The mountains are Listening
In knowing this, speak to that mountain that is keeping you up tonight.
It is positioned to block the Light, making you feel that it stands in the way of God being able to reach or rescue you.
Jesus said that nothing will be impossible for you to overcome with even a small bit of faith [in Him]. No, not even the mountains of stress, dead ends, broken relationships, mental strain, work woes, or spiritual warfare.
The mountains are listening. So, gather your mustard seed of faith, and speak.
Be reminded that it isn’t by your strength or your power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts.
This mountain SHALL be removed. Declare that now, and rest.
The #LateNight Series is for the souls that need anchoring in the late-night hour, reach for and receive the rest of the Lord.
He hears every clamoring thought, every cry, every question. As you search your heart tonight, may He be found.
